Fowler's homes and what age does to pipes
Fowler's housing element reports that 51.7 percent of the city's homes were built more than 30 years ago, and 31.3 percent more than 50 years ago. The city had about 2,035 households in 2020, and more than half of its homes are old enough to have original supply lines and drains. The housing element does not name individual neighborhoods, so we go by address.
Older supply lines fail with pinholes, and older drains collect roots. A home in the older half of town may need a leak detection visit after a bill jump or a camera visit after repeated clogs. Newer homes more often call for fixture work and water heater service.
Emergency dispatch around the clock
A licensed plumber is sent to Fowler day or night. Same-day visits are available when schedules allow.
Older homes
Pinhole leaks and slow drains are the common calls in homes from earlier decades.
Homes of any age
Water heaters, fixtures and garbage disposals need service in every decade. See garbage disposal repair.
Small businesses
Shops and offices can use after-hours emergency service too.
Fowler's water and what the city reports
The City of Fowler provides water to its residents from six groundwater wells. The 1,2,3-trichloropropane contaminant is the documented issue. A 2024-25 Fresno County Civil Grand Jury report says Fowler's annual reports have shown it in violation since 2019 and that Well 7, which supplies about a quarter of the city's water, exceeds the limit, with carbon treatment planned.
Questions about your own water belong with the Fowler Water Department. We could not find a hardness figure for Fowler, so test your tap and ask the city for its annual report. A water heater flush helps wherever the hardness lands.
Fowler's sewer and who maintains what
Fowler's sewage goes to the Selma-Kingsburg-Fowler County Sanitation District. Each member city owns its local collection lines, and the district operates and maintains them. The plant lies about 1.5 miles west of Kingsburg. For a backup inside your house, call us, and for one on the street, ask the city.
